He's the one saviour of a lecturer. Firm but fun.
PROFESSOR Scott Wersinger.
You have been abducted by aliens. Headphones playing music are placed on your ears. They start you off listening to some smokin’ Barry Manilow tunes (I know…there is no such thing as a smokin’ Manilow tune. There’s no such thing as aliens abducting you either. Humor me.) Anyway, you find these tunes very, very, very aversive. You discover that if you press a lever located in front of you the Manilow tunes stop, and the aversive stimulus is removed. This is an example of ______________.
forgiveness.
We all know we're all only human. We will undeniably make mistakes.
But how many mistakes can we possibly make before it reaches a point where
we cannot even forgive
ourselves?
Deep down I know I've reached the point of no return and I know that I'll always remember what I've done.
And I cannot forgive myself.
I vow to bring myself closer to Him yet I don't know where to start. But, step by step. Insya-Allah.

Okay, this is totally a boring post of me writing about my fanatical, non-existant life of a single independent woman in a city that never sleeps. Totally made up and bogus, so just skip it unless you've got a crush on me. If that's the case keep reading and tell me who you are so we can fall in lurve hahahaaaa.
I've fallen in love with the idea of having white walls and hanging up random bits and pieces to make my space a lil bit eclectic. I throughly regret agreeing with dark, almost black, furniture in place of the loud ones I used to have (ugh). I am fully toying with the idea with lightwood furnitures, clean workspaces and chalkboards.
My intentions, monetarily woeful as I am, are to devote my walls as a kind of canvas for pictures and postcards and framed art. And I can
never let go of the whole notion of having a potted plant somewhere. Which, of course, I will eventually neglect because I'm just like that. Victorian wallpaper has always been something I wanna explore and small spaces and clean-lined bathrooms with a choice plant-of-the-month.
Warm colours like a deep reds and earthy browns are colours I've specifically chosen as living room and dining room colours. I've no idea why but I've always like the idea of it. Well, not the brown but the red. And also a small space. About 700-900 square-feet sounds about right. Not particularly liveable for my "ideal family" of four.
Rich, rich leather reminiscent of psychiatrist's chair and a rug from, I dunno, Morocco or something if they even sell rugs there. I don't think I'll entertain the thought of a chandelier because, what the hell, I'd rather stuff myself with McDonalds' till I poop rainbows than buy an overpriced light fixture.
The genious, the absolute GENIOUS, of a certain
George Gorrow is that he has these
things that just hangs around. These glass jars filled with godknowswhat (most likely suspect: PAPER! Omggg ingenious) and I think its just terrific and I plan to recreate it eventhough I know they'll get thrown out like the rest of my nonsense.
But what really gets me down is the fact that I've absolutely no designing qualities in my blood. Tres tres merde and uncool. Instead of an eclectic wall of seemingly random thrown together picture, I'll get something that's just organised to me. And this whole tossing of different things together? The whole India-meets-London thing? I'm too cautious. I tend to overthink things. Which is so sad. Gah. Oh wells.
The mission of this blog post? I just wanted to spew and speak some dreamy decorating stuff. Like see-through fabrics and strong prints. Exposed walls and canvas walls. White walls that aren't white because you adorn it and accessorize it. Wood flooring, shiny and dark. Tiles on the walls, a jewellery cupthing and pure white sheets on a cloud-like bed. Hot cocoa with marshmellows and talking in the dark.
Above all, I don't want to be alone in that space. I want to wait up for someone and greet them with a smile and a hug and a talk in bed till we both collapse from the exhaustion of the day.
faces and places.
We, as humans, are too proud of our abilities. We think we're the best in language, the best memory, the best technology. But really, we are not all that.
I get upset when I see musicians throwing food in the climax of their music video. Don't you have other uses for that? Like putting it into your mouths? Or somebody else's? Some videos at least tell people that the food are the ones that were gonna get thrown away anyway. And maybe some are plastic, but do we know for sure? Oh wells. Maybe its just me in my funk.
On another note, I wanna talk about forgiveness. I watched a Martha Stewart episode the other day and someone came on it to talk about forgiveness. According to her, we can and should forgive someone. This doesn't mean that we should give them a formal apology (Ergo: I'm sorry. Face to face), it doesn't mean that we need to ever see them again
AND it doesn't mean that we should even be friends again. Which appealed to me A LOT.
For one, I do not wish to see the people that I need and should forgive. I do not want to see their faces, shadow nor smell their scent. Most of all, most of all, I do not want to be their friends again for I do not trust them nor trust myself
with them.
Secondly, I think my life is rosy without them. No gossips, no fuss, no mess, nothing. I am at peace. I've let the past go and it really is looking like I've the whole world ahead of me. Rampant opportunities.
However, there's a but here that I cannot remember. Ah, yes. This whole forgiveness on your part thing. Is it the Islamic way? If not, then what is? The thing here is I wanna be level-headed and not stupid. What if the Islamic way is to be friends again, apologize upfront and smile to this other person when you see them on the streets? I cannot do that. Good god, no. Even thinking about doing such a
merepek thing hurts. I mean, you don't trust this person, why even bother being nice? So if you're friends they expect you to be nice, come over say hello, talk a lil bit of super no meaning small talk like it'll solidify and cement and carve the friendship in stone, pfftt.
I don't want emotions to get in the way (mine). I don't want mixed messages (theirs). And I don't want pretend-ness. Let's not pretend you didn't hurt me. Let's not pretend you didn't abandon me. Let's not pretend you didn't listen to me. Let's not pretend you trust me. Let's not pretend we're alright.
Let's.
Not.
Pretend.
If the way to go about doing this is to make friends again, I won't do it. I won't.
I won't be able to stand all the fakeness. I remember when I made friends again with a person who I know wasn't good for me. While I toughened up for the blow that eventually came, I can't say it didn't hurt. I will not put myself up to that and know that some time later, it would all come crashing down again and I would feel like the biggest dumbass for the mistake that I knew was a bad idea in the first place. No. I respect myself too much to stoop that low.
The message here is clear:
I want to forgive. Not be friends.
