  singapore
i just finished watching a re-run of The Price Is Right. it's an american show with all these people bidding for all these prizes some of which are very attractive and some of which are just...i can't think of a word.

so anyways, someone was playing for a trip to Singapore. and for some reason the models bowed with their palms pressed together near their chests ala the Thai way of greeting. which perplexed me. and then what got me perplexed-er, was that the mini billboard "advertising" Singapore had dragons and pagodas and Singapore written in that chinese-y way.

i'd totally forgive the poor guyy if he thought he was going to Hong Kong or something. and went around Singapore greeting locals in the Thai manner. i wouldn't call myself a true blue Singaporean because i'd rather be somewhere colder, but when ads like these turn up, i get a little irritated at all the ignorant little buggers who think we're a part of China.

and we're a metropolitan city, trying to westernise ourselves whilst keeping our traditions and such (no matter how ironic that is), so just shake our hands for god's sake. but then again, malaysia does do the whole bow thing.

ok fine, we're a confused bunch. METROPOLITAN!

I am someone you might know, this is my personal weblog - means i write everything based on my personal perspectives, whether those are wrong or right, insulting or flattering, stupid or smart, those are my ways of seeing the universe. You may come and read, but the contents are not yours. If you don't like what you read - once again: those are mine. If you hate me because of my writings that's not my responsibility, I never asked you to come here.
