city lights
i've seen the singapore city lights twice since i've been home and every time i do, i get awestruck. it's gorgeous. and breath-taking. i love it.
and i get the whole "being in love" feeling. like warm and fuzzy. and everything's alright.
maybe its just the people i was with when i went to see the lights.
maybe i'm just secretly glad to be home. and that i was greeted with such warmth from all my closest friends.
or maybe it's just the songs i listen to on my
sony walkman that make me smile to myself and walk with a spring in my step.
it's just an irreplaceable feeling. and perhaps that's why i keep wanting to see the lights.
the almost delusional way that i feel. that i am i'm love with someone.
it's a feeling i wanna bottle and keep in the furthest reaches of my closet and open up when i feel the lowest.
i saw you with your skinny-ness and your hair and your everything. i didn't walk up to you coz i was afraid. HAHA. i walked towards you purposely keeping my head down hoping you won't recognise me but oh wells. LOL. i needed the loo and i needed reassurance that i looked okay. i've chronic verbal diarrhoea. maybe i came off as loud. i loved it when you moved down a step, and when you threw my coin. and the incredulous-ness i felt when you stepped on my foot. you're surprisingly light. and the touch of apology.
the molecules hark back to the fastidious touch of skin. but i felt left out at some point and sorely stupid sitting between two smart people who've done so well in their past examinations. and all i can do is keep staring at the city lights. wondering where have the years gone since we last saw each other. but with everything that is with me, this might just be a fad. for i know there must be some other star that you're yearning for. and i know this is a one way street. but i'll embrace the feelings i get when things and conversations steer your way.
i hold sunlight and swallow fireflies;and it makes me want to cry.i love you.-brightly wound, eisley.
